1994: Smoki creates the first soot abatement system ever conceived
Today: more than 30 years later, the Smoki Junior remains the best solution for eliminating soot from your wood-fired oven.
The Smoki Junior achieves a 95% soot reduction. The smoke from your wood-fired oven enters the abatement system, where it is subjected to a water spray generated by special nozzles inside a manifold. This process causes the soot to settle into the water collected in the lower part of the machine. The cleaned smoke then exits from the opposite side and continues its path through the flue.
The washing system operates on a water recirculation cycle managed by an electric pump. While the recirculating wash is running, a solenoid valve introduces clean water into the abatement system, and the same amount of non-evaporated water is discharged into the sewage system. This setup ensures effective washing while minimizing water consumption.
The installation of our abatement systems is easy and versatile. Installation can be carried out anywhere in the chimney coming out of your oven or hood above your grill, inside but as well outside your local. For outdoor installation we also provide the specific protective panel to preserve the machine from weathering. The necessary requirements are : a supply from the water network, a sewer drain and an electrical connection for the machine power supply. It is very important to use a properly sized and watertight chimney made by AISI 316 stainless steel , as the fumes after water washing are loaded with moisture.
