Description
The Lean Orbital Planters are tree planters 3D-printed from recycled plastic recyclate with a distinctive pleated wall that provides structural strength and a recognisable visual expression. The product is offered as a planter-only unit or as a planter-with-integrated Lean benches configuration to create shaded social seating areas. For multi-stem trees, the Treetec™ Bottom Up system is recommended to optimise water and root development.

Years of research and urban projects have produced the Treetec™ system used in Streetlife planters. Treetec™ supports optimal tree development in confined planter environments by improving aeration, insulation and root anchoring.

Treetec™ Basic
Treetec™ Basic is a care kit including an oxygen circulation system, thermal insulation and a sub-soil root ball fixing system to ensure healthy growth in tree planters.

Treetec™ Bottom Up
With Treetec™ Bottom Up the water reservoir is placed at the bottom of the planter or tree isle. Capillary tubes improve water circulation, reducing watering and maintenance during the growing season. Over time, biodegradable capillary columns degrade and are absorbed into the substrate.

• A Installation of the columns against the root cloth.
• B First root growth in the column structure; initial reduction of moisture-retaining fibres in the column.
• C Further root growth in the columns; partial degradation of the cylindrical column.
• D Fully grown column structure replaces original capillary column; optimal water and oxygen retention by roots.
