Product Overview: CertainTeed's workhorse granulated, torch-applied, APP-modified bitumen cap sheet, Flintlastic® GTA is valued for its quick melt and decades of consistent quality. This 160-mill membrane is manufactured with a resilient polyester reinforcement, offering exceptional durability and resistance to weathering. GTA is available in eight true-blend colors designed to complement popular shingles as well as CoolStar® highly solar-reflective surfacing. Torch-down roofing technology has only strengthened since first coming on the scene in the 1970’s. CertainTeed modifies roofing asphalt with plasticizing atactic polypropylene (APP) polymers to enhance product toughness, especially in environments with elevated UV exposure. These APP modified bitumen products are staples of the torch roofing community, especially in the West and South.
