OverviewGUBI OUTDOOR SLATS combines laminated bamboo slats with a metal substructure to create technical ceilings for sheltered outdoor spaces and transitional zones. The system allows customisation of slat sections, heights and spacing to suit project geometry and visual rhythm.
Independent Slat SystemThe system uses individual slats (not closed modules), providing flexibility for alignments, spacing and plane changes. Slats can be supplied in single pieces up to 11,800 mm to minimise visible joints and preserve visual continuity on large surfaces.
Laminated bamboo for exterior useManufactured from laminated bamboo with high dimensional stability and durability class 1–2. D4 adhesives ensure resistance to moisture and water contact. Material is stabilised at a moisture content of 14% (±2%). A pigmented penetrating finish protects the surface and defines colour; end grain is sealed with epoxy resin to prevent direct moisture ingress. FSC certification available on request.
Principal properties- Approximate density: 0.72 g/cm³
- Bending strength: 112 N/mm²
- Formaldehyde emission: Class E1
- Durability: Class 1–2
- FSC-certified product available upon request
Individually adjustable slat installationThe metal substructure consists of rails supporting each slat independently. Each slat includes concealed machining to accept GUBI sliding anchors, which can be repositioned during installation for precise alignment. Installers can level each slat before final fixing. Individual slats can be removed or replaced without dismantling the remainder of the ceiling. Rails may be suspended on threaded rods or fixed directly to a levelled supporting structure.
Dimensions and technical specificationsManufactured in laminated bamboo for exterior use. Available lengths: up to 11,800 mm (tolerance ±1.0 mm). Available heights: 100–200 mm. Thicknesses: 40 or 50 mm (tolerance ±0.1 mm). Standard profile: GOS 50-125 (50 × 125 mm). Approximate weight: 4.50 kg per linear metre. Protective finish: pigmented penetrating finish; end grain sealed with epoxy resin. Brand: Grupo GUBIA.
Fire PerformanceThe system is compatible with pressure-applied fire-retardant treatments. Possible achievable classifications include D-s3,d0, C-s3,d0 or B-s3,d0 depending on treatment and project conditions. Final classification must be confirmed for each section, configuration and installation condition.
Recommended applications- Porches
- Covered entrances
- Covered terraces
- Indoor–outdoor transition areas
- Undersides of overhangs
- Sheltered outdoor ceilings
- Semi-covered spaces
Adaptable to every projectSlat cross-section, height, thickness and spacing can be modified. Alternative wood species may be assessed if required. Any modification is subject to prior technical review considering exposure conditions, dimensions, finish, supporting structure and reaction to fire.
