Description

HISTORY The Lamont clan is descendant from the original Scots who crossed from Ireland. The name originally translated as lawgiver. The oldest existing example of a scottish musical instrument, the Lamont Harp from 1464, survives and currently resides with the Robertsons of Lude. The last clan lands were sold in 1893 and the present chief lives in Australia. The Lamont Ancient tartan contains almost equal green and blue with black and a white stripe.
