Technical & operational notes from FAQs

• Retrofit: manual roof windows can be upgraded with electric or solar roller shutters. Electric operation may require the KUX 110 control unit (sold separately).
• Motor brake after break-in attempt: motor remains locked for 10 minutes, during which the shutter is blocked; motor is released afterwards.
• New roller shutter generation: from 15.06.2026 the new SSL-/SML-K generation will be delivered as standard; in specific older/building cases the previous generation may remain available.
• Study result (simulation): internal VELUX simulation (May–September, Hamburg) showed cooling up to 7.5 °C with external roller shutters under defined conditions.
• Combinability: external heat protection can be combined with internal solar shading (roller blinds, pleated blinds) and compatible with insect screens.
• Funding eligibility: VELUX roller shutters may be eligible for subsidies under certain energy renovation schemes.

VELUX roller shutters provide durable performance with a base warranty and an extended product warranty up to 5 + 2 years after end-customer registration.
