Description

Product name
Electric 230 V pivot roof window

Short description
Electric pivot roof window designed for hardwired 230 V integration. Includes rain sensor and is intended for straightforward integration into building automation systems. Window and roller shutter can be connected via a multi conductor control cable. A PDF overview with available variants and sizes is available.

Benefits for your customers
  • Only €400 net surcharge compared with the manual pivot roof window
  • Rain sensor included (can be replaced or integrated with third party systems if required)
  • Easy integration into building automation systems
  • Connection of window and roller shutter via a 6 conductor control cable (2 conductors per device)
  • Simple window installation; roller shutter connects directly to the window motor
  • Easy functional test using the reusable Test Kit ZZZ 275

Available variants and sizes
A PDF overview lists all available variants and sizes of the electric pivot roof window and provides a concise summary of product benefits.

Wiring diagram and connection
Two conductors are provided for the window (open/close) and two for the roller shutter (up/down). Each conductor is color coded as indicated on the rating plate and in the wiring diagram.
The function of the input is defined by the applied 230 V supply. If only the window is powered at 230 V, only the window responds to the control signals.
If both window and roller shutter are connected, both devices respond to commands via the control cable. Each product must be connected to its own switch.

Test Kit and accessories
The reusable Test Kit ZZZ 275 is available to verify functionality after installation. For installation on a newly fitted manual pivot roof window, when an electric roller shutter is to be powered at 230 V, the power supply unit KLC 230 is required (available from size FK).

FAQ
  • Can I connect an electric roller shutter to the electric 230 V roof window? It is generally not recommended to connect electric roller shutters to 230 V windows, as they are not designed to receive control commands via the cable. The window provides electrical brackets so the roller shutter can only be operated from the supplied wall switch and not via 230 V integration.
  • How do I connect a roller shutter to the electric 230 V roof window? For electric 230 V GGL/GGU windows, the roller shutter is connected in the junction box using the two roller shutter conductors. The power supply is provided via the window mains cable, which supplies the roller shutter through the integrated power unit.
  • Do I have to use the original rain sensor or can I use a third party sensor? Use of the original rain sensor is recommended. It is however possible to remove the existing sensor and replace it with a rain sensor from an external building management system.
  • How do I connect an electric roller shutter to a manual pivot window (GGL/GGU) with 230 V? The KLC 230 power supply is required for installation on a newly fitted manual pivot roof window. This power supply is installed in the window and provides a 230 V supply for an electric roller shutter (available from size FK).
  • How can the customer connect the roof window and roller shutter to a conventional switch? Each window and external roller shutter has two wires that must be connected to a relay in a switch (one switch per product). Unused conductors must be properly insulated.
  • Can the roof window be opened in the rain? Yes. The rain sensor override function remains when connected to an external switch. Press the open window button twice within 3 seconds, then the window remains half open for 15 minutes.
