SCUDOBASE is an elastoplastomeric base sheet obtained distilled asphalt modified with elastomeric resins and plastomeric polymers.
It has a rot proof non-woven polyester carrier which is coated with the compound on its upper surface only.
USE
SCUDOBASE is used mainly as a torchable base layer to enable the subsequent installation of waterproofing membranes. It is mechanically fixed by large headed roofing nails on wooden or corrugated metal decks, and whenever the membrane cannot be torched directly on the substrate. When installed over exiting waterproofing, SCUDOBASE can be used as a vapor control layer.
SCUDOBASE may also be loose laid as a separation layer in roof gardens; roof system ballasted with gravel or paving stones, and is frequently used as a protective layer on rough or uneven surfaces.
SCUDOBASE is also ideal for installation on top of heat sensitive insulation materials as it acts as protection for the torching of subsequent layers.
FINISHES
SCUDOBASE has the upper surface protective TORCHFLAM film to ensure that the roll unwinds perfectly.
The lower surface is the non-woven polyester carrier which has not been impregnated.
PACKAGING
The top tape indicates the product type, and the lower tape the weight or thickness of the product. The rolls are supplied on wooden pallets and are held in position by a protective heat shrunk polythene covering. Each pallet has two control tickets which enable the laboratory to be readily identify the characteristics of the product.
