Description

“Grand Canal Theatre“ is the new landmark of Dublin and powerful cultural presence in the Grand Canal district. The building consists of a geometrically very challenging steel-glass façade in the entrance area, three external walls with stainless steel cladding and glazed lights, and an aluminium roof cladding. Two glazed atrium roofs connect the building with the adjacent office complexes. The entrance façade is 24.25 m high and free spanning up to 25 m. The secondary glass structure does not show any visible transoms. The glass is almost 25 m long, therefore Gartner had to develop special glass bearings that are attached to the mullions. The bearings are concealed by the glazing joint and should be able to support both the dead load and the glass. Scope of Work Geometrically very challenging steel-glass façade in the entrance area, three external walls with stainless steel cladding and glazed lights, and an aluminium roof cladding, 8,700 sqm
