Description

Product Overview
KIN Nanolia Midcoat is a waterborne, thick-coating paste that incorporates SiO2 aerogel as the core insulating filler combined with high-performance resin and inorganic binders to form a dense nano-insulation layer. Thermal insulation is achieved through combined mechanisms of reflection, radiation reduction and barrier effect.

Application
  • Building: exterior and interior walls, roofs, basements, energy-efficiency renovation projects.
  • Industrial: medium/low-temperature storage tanks, pipelines, equipment, valves and flanges.
  • Transportation: refrigerated trucks and cold-chain container insulation.

Key benefits
  • Thermal performance: thermal conductivity λ ≤ 0.044 W/(m·K); 1–3 mm dry film offers insulation comparable to approximately 30–40 mm of conventional insulation.
  • Space and weight saving: typical coat 1–1.5 mm per layer, low added mass, suitable where limited space is available.
  • Application versatility: compatible with spraying, troweling and screeding; formulated for thick-coat application without cracking.
  • Safety and environmental: waterborne, VOC-free, Class A fire rating, hydrophobic properties.
  • Durability: high adhesion, aging resistance and seamless application that minimizes thermal bridges.

Install Guide
  • Substrate preparation: ensure substrate is sound, clean, dry and free of contaminants; steel surfaces require rust removal and anti-corrosion treatment.
  • Mixing: stir slowly with a mechanical mixer; dilute up to 5% with clean water if required; avoid high-speed mixing.
  • Application: apply by spraying, troweling or screeding in 2–3 coats; single wet coat ≤ 2–3 mm.
  • Dry interval: allow surface to dry approx. 2–4 h at 25°C before next coat.
  • Curing: natural cure ≥ 7 days; protect from water and mechanical impact during curing.

Storage
  • Store sealed in a cool, dry place at 5–35°C.
  • Shelf life (unopened): 12 months from manufacture.
  • Values stated are nominal; actual performance may vary with application method, substrate condition and environmental factors.
