No longer can aesthetics be sacrificed for functionality in parking design.
New demands on parking structures require them to be elegant, thematic, and serve as focal points that can attract new business - all while seamlessly maintaining their utilitarian purpose. Cambridge has assisted in this visionary shift by providing a solution that meets these demands.
Architects who use Cambridge Parkade systems discover that mesh provides a highly textured and glimmering surface that intrigues the senses and invites drivers to park their vehicles within its space.
Mixed-use facilities of today feature elegantly integrated parking facilities. Parking facility design elements often become thematic to the overall facility. For example, it's not uncommon to see exterior features of a parking facility carried into the interior design of the facility it serves. Cambridge woven metal fabric easily accommodates this design strategy.
No other cladding material transforms ordinary open parking structures into truly extraordinary architecture as effortlessly, economically and environmentally sound than architectural mesh.
Cambridge Architectural Parkade systems provide cost-effective lightweight mesh systems with expert-led installations.
Cambridge Architectural occupies an important space in a new generation of parking design.

Planet-M is a remarkable building object which was to be clad with stainless steel wire mesh in a three-dimensional way. The 'Escale' mesh was especially developed for this project. At daytime, it reflects the light as a glistening surface. At night, when the Planet starts glowing by means of 380 light sources, the mesh recedes optically and serves as a filigree light distributor.

Alongside the traditional Costacurta S.p.A. - VICO production of steel components for industry (such as woven wire mesh, perforated plates, conveyor belts, reactor internals, separators and hexagonal meshes), a specific line of wire weaves for architecture has now been added: ARCHI-NET®. Wire cloth was born in the manufacturing industry to filter, separate and contain, depending on the function of the component that it is integrated into. It has now been 'lent' to architecture, which once again promotes the adoption of technologies created and developed in other sectors. The ARCHI-NET® wire cloth is an innovative non-traditional product that offers plenty of room for creativity: the harmony of its geometrical shapes, its shine, transparency and suppleness appeal to and stimulate the creativity of those able to appreciate its possibilities and imagine the extraordinary effects that this material can offer when skilfully used both for exteriors and interiors of buildings.
|
|
Type A.
It is a weave made of groups of ropes laid lengthwise (warp) and round wires laid crosswise (weft); it is a particularly flexible and resistant weave and permits varying degrees of transparency to be obtained depending on the diameter of the wires used and the distance between them.

TECU® Net, Rib Mesh and Perforated Plate are perforated surfaces in three designs which differ as follows:
TECU® Net perforated plate is produced from the tried and tested base material TECU® Classic. The material is perforated while being stretched and is then rolled and stretch-levelled in a subsequent stage. As a result TECU® Net has regular, rounded perforations in its surface. Production is optimised to suit the cross-section and material.
Like TECU® Net TECU® Rib Mesh is produced by making offset perforations into the material while it is being stretched, however, the rib mesh is not subjected to the subsequent rolling process.
Perforated plates made from TECU® copper are perforated with offset, diagonally offset or straight rows of holes. The round perforations are produced according to planning specifications and are generally custom-made.

Architectural Mesh
Metallic weaves, flexible and rigid meshes with many available shapes and designs that allow to cover large external surfaces, create virtual interior rooms or generate visual illusions by combining them with light and colors.
The stainless steel architectural meshes are very verstile both in their applications and in their properties. A large range can be manufactured in the requested characteristics suitable for each project with also the most advisable attachment systems. Outdoor closings for largescale projects that can fulfil both esthetical requirements and functionality in just one material.
Indoor wall and column claddings, ceiling systems, space dividers or filter screening or some other typical uses for these materials.

Transparent Media Façades: IMAGIC WEAVE
Architectural façades are becoming the focus of new media communication. Large scale imaging and architectural video designed using LED media solutions accentuate the appearance and functionality of contemporary architectural sites in any urban landscape, day and night.
IMAGIC WEAVE, a combination of Haver Architectural Wire Mesh and state-of-the-art LED technology, enables to create individually programmable lighting effects in up to 16 million colours including full video content on a new or existing façade.
The wire mesh elements are custom-made for the specific project. DOGLA-TRIO is the most suitable type of mesh, fabricated in max. 3 meter width and upon request available in other dimensions, too. The maxim height is limited by handling and static reasons only. In general the mesh elements are tensioned from top to bottom. Different mounting systems are available with regard to the specifics of each project.
By attaching slim LED-profiles to the reverse side of the wire mesh the homogenous and transparent look of the façade is maintained at all times, even when the LEDs are not in use.
Both indoor and outdoor façades may be embellished with medium to high resolution video and graphic animation. IMAGIC WEAVE offers all of the benefits of an LED imaging solution within a plug’n’play stainless steel mesh system.

Materials
The materials which are normally perforated are:
- common steel
- stainless steel
- non ferrous materials
- others, such as plastic, etc.
Size
The thickness ranges generally from 0,5 up to 20 mm, while the maximum length is normally 1500 mm. If the rewinding as bands is not required the length should not be more then 6000 mm. On request it is also possible to exceed these values.
Holes
The most required are round, square, elongated and rectangular.
Pitch or interaxis
The pitch or interaxis corresponds to the lower distance between the centres of two nearby holes. In case there are two different pitches in the same perforation (e.g. in case of elongated holes) it is necessary to define these values before
starting the production. On request works in iron, stainless steel, brass, copper etc. are supplied as standard sizes 1000x2000 and with sizes required by the customer himself.
Full edges
Generally, standard SHEETS with a maximum thickness of 3 mm have minimal full edges just on the longer sides, while from 4 mm up, there are full edges also on the other sides. On request sheets with different edges are available.
