Description

Description
PARSOL® ULTRA GRIS is a heavily body-tinted float glass produced by the same process as clear float glass. Its composition provides an intense, glossy grey appearance.

Applications
With a range of thicknesses and full transformability, PARSOL® ULTRA GRIS is suitable for diverse architectural and interior uses.
  • Interior fit-out: partitions and room dividers, interior doors, shower screens and bath enclosures, shower cabins, wall cladding, radiators, splashbacks and cooker hoods.
  • Furniture: tabletops and shelves, furniture fronts.
  • Façade: spandrel panels.

Benefits
The color and degree of opacity of PARSOL® ULTRA GRIS increase with thickness. Its appearance ranges from an intense grey at 4 mm to an almost opaque black at greater thicknesses. Different advantages are obtained depending on thickness:
  • At 4 and 6 mm: ability to obscure or reveal depending on lighting (a 'spy' function). As a room divider, it can allow viewing into a darker space without being seen. From the brighter side, the glass resembles lacquered black glass.
  • From 6 mm: suitable for wall cladding or furniture fronts (sufficiently opaque to mask wall imperfections or cover a furniture façade).
  • At 8 mm: aesthetic of a 'black' glass, nearly opaque, with a mineral, massive appearance reminiscent of onyx.

Range
• Thicknesses: 4, 6 and 8 mm (+/- 0.2 mm).
• Dimensions: 6 000 x 3 210 mm (PLF).
(For other sizes, consult the supplier/processor.)

Transformations
PARSOL® ULTRA GRIS can undergo the typical transformations of float glass:
  • Tempering (increased resistance to heat inputs, e.g. for cooker hood panels).
  • Laminating: when assembled as laminated glass, it acquires safety properties identical to STADIP® for equivalent thicknesses.
  • Bendable: suitable for architectural curving.
  • Frosted or screen-printed: options for decorative customization.

Installation
Installation recommendations for PARSOL® ULTRA GRIS are the same as for standard clear float glass. Under certain conditions, tempering or heat treatment may be required to avoid the risk of thermally induced breakage.

Regulation
PARSOL® ULTRA GRIS complies with EN 572-2.

Characteristics / technical specifications
  • Light transmittance (TL %) and light reflection (RL %) by thickness: 4 mm → TL 10%, RL 4%; 6 mm → TL 3%, RL 4%; 8 mm → TL 1%, RL 4%.
  • Available thicknesses: 4, 6, 8 mm (+/- 0.2 mm).
  • Maximum dimensions PLF: 6 000 x 3 210 mm.
