Description

Product description
KINJOYA FM MINERAL is a flexible elastomer-modified asphalt waterproofing membrane produced by impregnating and coating SBS-modified asphalt onto polyester felt, fiberglass felt, or fiberglass-reinforced polyester felt. The top surface features mineral granules for UV reflection and weather protection, while the underside has a factory-applied burn-off film suitable for heat welding and torch application.

Application
Designed for waterproofing building structures with primary use in industrial, commercial, and residential roofing systems where a mineral-surfaced, torch-applied membrane is required.

Key Benefits
  • High tensile strength and good elongation for roof movement accommodation.
  • Flexible with excellent low-temperature performance and resistance to aging and UV exposure.
  • Mineral granule surface reflects UV radiation, reducing bitumen aging and extending service life.
  • Compatible with conventional torch roofing techniques for efficient installation.

Install Guide
  • Prepare a clean, dry, dust- and debris-free substrate. Apply primer where required before membrane installation.
  • On reroofing projects, remove previous roofing materials down to a clean substrate and close off abandoned penetrations.
  • Do not install over existing shingles or other granulated surfaces.
  • During installation start at the low point of the roof; unroll the membrane, allow it to relax, then reroll and align. Install using traditional torch roofing methods, fully torch the burn-off film to create a pool of molten bitumen and ensure proper sidelap welding.
  • Detailing and flashings may be completed with hot asphalt, cold applications or torch techniques per project requirements.

Storage
  • Store rolls upright in a cool, dry warehouse, retaining inner supports and original protective film; place on pallets and stack no more than two pallets high with dunnage between layers.
  • Protect from direct sunlight, heat sources, freezing temperatures, organic solvents and physical damage.
  • Product is suitable for long-term storage when recommended conditions are maintained.
  • All values are nominal manufacturing data; actual performance may vary with application methods, substrate conditions, environment and product configuration.
