SummaryBIOCLEAN® is a surface-treated glass that uses the dual action of natural elements (sun - UV rays - and rain/water) to facilitate maintenance of glazing: windows, rooflights, curtain walls, facades and other configurations. Result: cleaner glass for longer, with reduced use of detergents.
DescriptionBIOCLEAN® is an innovative "self-cleaning" glazing designed to limit maintenance. It consists of clear, extra-clear or tinted glass on which a thin transparent layer of noble metals (photocatalytic and hydrophilic) is deposited. This layer is permanent and does not alter the existing properties of the glass (thermal, solar or acoustic insulation). The process enables the breakdown and removal of soiling by UV rays and water action, offering a durable solution without compromising glazing functionality.
Applications- Windows, rooflights, bay windows, conservatories, atria, glazed façades and balustrades.
- Areas exposed to pollution (urban, airport or industrial environments).
CompatibilitiesCan be combined with solar-control coated glasses for residential and commercial use (e.g. ECLAZ®, COOL-LITE®) and can be paired with safety or acoustic options (e.g. STADIP® PROTECT, STADIP® SILENCE) to combine ease of maintenance with other performances.
Benefits- Reduced maintenance: photocatalytic and hydrophilic properties reduce adhesion of soiling, allowing effective cleaning by simple rinsing with water.
- Aesthetics: glazing stays cleaner longer and maintains high clarity, even in rainy conditions, enhancing building appearance.
- Environmental protection: reduces the use of detergents and lowers maintenance-related costs and impacts.
PerformanceBIOCLEAN® uses the dual action of UV rays and water to degrade and remove soiling from the glass surface. The product meets the durability requirements for coated glass according to EN 1096. The BIOCLEAN® coating is classified as Class A, ensuring longevity and performance for varied building applications.
