Description
Overview
The front surface is PVC vinyl and the back is aluminum foil-covered gypsum ceiling panels for use in modular suspended ceiling systems. KAROPAN panels are lightweight, easy to handle and install, provide a smooth finished surface, and combine inherent gypsum fire resistance with improved moisture performance thanks to the aluminium backing.
Suitability for ceilings
Designed for interior suspended ceiling applications, these panels deliver a flush appearance and accept painting or decorative finishes. They are suitable for commercial, public and light industrial interiors where standard moisture exposure and fire performance are required.
Fire Performance
The gypsum core contributes to fire retardant behavior by releasing bound water under heat. Surface and backing materials influence overall performance; KAROPAN panels are specified with fire classification A1 for the core and appropriate surface treatments.
Moisture Resistance
Standard KAROPAN panels tolerate limited moisture exposure. The aluminium foil back enhances resistance to humidity compared with plain gypsum panels. For sustained high-humidity environments (showers, exterior-exposed locations) choose dedicated moisture-resistant variants or alternative exterior-rated materials.
Exterior Use
Not recommended for direct outdoor exposure or prolonged wet conditions. For exterior ceilings or areas subject to weather, select cement board or fibre-cement systems designed for outdoor use.
