The use of Vector Foiltec’s Texlon® ETFE technology has been instrumental in the success of the renovation of the Siam Discovery Mall. Along with a brand new ice rink, Madame Tussaud’s exhibition and a premium multi-purpose function hall, the mall now boasts a stunning entrance. Vector Foiltec used Texlon® ETFE to create an abstract façade made of adjoining prisms. The façade is lit up at night by LED lighting, making Siam Discovery a flashing beacon in the Bangkok skyline.Individual Texlon® ETFE panels can be patterned to virtually any shape or size – depending on local site conditions – to create individual and stunning venues. This feature, combined with its exceptional durability and low maintenance, made Texlon® ETFE cladding the natural choice to cover the stunning Siam Discovery façade. The large panel size allowed for a reduction in the supporting steelwork, while still considering the exceptional design loads.
