This unique development in Beijing simulates a city-within-a-city. The project consists of four buildings; including living accommodation, a shopping centre, an office complex and a boutique hotel. All four buildings are enclosed by an external roofing envelope comprising of Texlon® ETFE, glass and steel structure façades. The envelope acts as a passive modulator for creating optimal interior air temperature and quality in contrast to Beijing’s harsh climatic conditions.With an ability to carry 400 times its own weight and with an estimated 50 year life span, Texlon® ETFE is durable and acts as an environmental shield, with the ability to insulate and ventilate, simultaneously providing shelter and climate control.Achieving a LEED Platinum Certification, in November 2010 Parkview Green FangCao-Di was named the best Green Building in Asia: it is the first Chinese project to win a “Green Building” award. Parkview Green FangCao-Di has set a benchmark for technologically advanced buildings providing energy-efficient solutions with the use of Texlon® ETFE.
