Architects Aymeric Zublena, Bernard Cabannes and SCAU worked closely with the client Silic – one of the most renowned real estate companies in the Paris region – to develop a dynamic office environment. This new building at Montréal Orly-Rungis was built to an incredibly high standard. Building occupants can enjoy the very best in terms of aesthetics, comfortable facilities and savings in the operation costs. The 15,000 m2 of office space over six levels can accommodate 1,100 workstations.The building was designed to minimize energy consumption in both summer and winter months. The high performance curtain walling façade is complimented by with high performance Texlon® ETFE. The Texlon® ETFE foils were printed to minimize solar gain while maximizing natural daylight. The use of Texlon® ETFE offers significant benefits compared to other transparent cladding systems. The low levels of embodied energy, combined with its adaptability in terms of natural ventilation, thermal insulation and light transmittance, makes Texlon® ETFE an incredibly sustainable construction product.The Texlon® ETFE system has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) based on ISO 14025 and EN 15804. It is possible to insert Texlon® EPD data directly into the DGNB building certification system and to get additional environmental credits for the LEED certification.
