With its translucent onyx façade, the Benrather Karree (block) sets a permanent accent in the Düsseldorf banking quarter.
Scope of Work
The scope of delivery includes approx. 11,450 sqm (123,200 sq ft) façade, which is subdivided into metal-glass façade panels, shop window units, lobby area, stone-glass panels and natural stonework. Transparent solar control glass, aluminum frames and embossed aluminum sheet metal, glass/stone glass panels constitute the façade materials. On the north side, the 9-story building steps back at each storey and surrounds the landscaped inner courtyard on three sides. The façade materials include transparent thermal control double glazing, aluminum frameworks and stone panels. The building is to have a storey-high panellised façade with opening panels in each axis for reasons of user-friendliness and in order to allow the panels to be cleaned from the inside.
