Description- Insulating glass units* incorporating COOL-LITE® SKN 165 or SKN 165 II provide a high visible light transmission of 61% combined with medium solar protection (g = 0.34).
- COOL-LITE® SKN 165 can also be used as a monolithic laminated glass when the coating is protected against the PVB interlayer. * Reference composition 6-16-4 with the coating on face 2.
- These products belong to the “committed” high-performance coated glass range offering improved environmental, health and occupant comfort benefits.
Key points- High selectivity (selectivity > 1.7): reduces lighting and cooling energy demand.
- Excellent thermal insulation in IGU (Ug = 1.0 W/m²·K).
- Thermal comfort: limits summer overheating and reduces cold-radiation feeling in winter.
- Visual comfort: high daylight admission for a given solar protection with very good external views.
Applications- Glazing suited to new or refurbished commercial and office projects where high natural light is required while maintaining medium solar control (notably façades with moderate to high glazing ratios).
- Laminated glass with the coating protected against PVB (STADIP® COOL-LITE® SKN 165 face 1’) is well adapted to large open spaces without heating requirements (e.g. station halls, walkways).
Advantages- When incorporated in insulating glass, combines the benefits of high-performance coated glass:
- Neutral appearance with low external reflection (RLext = 17%).
- High visible transmission of 61% for artificial lighting savings.
- Medium solar factor g = 0.34 to limit excessive cooling demand; compatible with integrated blind solutions (CLIMAPLUS® SCREEN).
- Excellent thermal insulation (Ug = 1.0 W/m²·K).
- When laminated as monolithic glass (STADIP® COOL-LITE® SKN 165 face 1’):
- Light transmission TL = 58%.
- Solar factor g = 0.37 (moderate solar protection).
- Reduced thickness and weight versus an equivalent IGU (selectivity 1.57).
- Neutral interior appearance with a slightly bluish exterior tint.
- The product STADIP® COOL-LITE® SKN 165 face 1’ benefits from CEKAL certification for certain configurations.
PerformanceValues given according to EN 673 and EN 410, calculated with 90% argon filling.

Technical remarks:
- Solar control coated glass with the coating on face 2, mounted in insulating glass composition 6-16-4 with a PLANICLEAR® face.
- Values relate to insulating glass with argon filling. Performance may vary depending on composition, thickness, fill gas and installation conditions.
Availability and options- Available monolithic in 6, 8 or 10 mm (other thicknesses on request).
- Standard sizes up to 6000 x 3210 mm (other lengths on request).
- Supplied on PLANICLEAR® substrate as standard or DIAMANT® on request.
- Available in laminated safety glass (STADIP® PROTECT) from 44.2 up to 1010.2, and in STADIP® SILENCE for enhanced acoustic insulation (on request / some options made-to-order).
Handling and installation instructions- In IGU assemblies, COOL-LITE® SKN 165 and SKN 165 II must always be edge-sealed with the coating positioned on face 2.
- COOL-LITE® SKN 165 II must always be tempered prior to IGU assembly to achieve its intended performance and appearance; it can be bent.
- Validation trials with the processor are recommended. After processing, IGUs including a SKN 165 or SKN 165 II coating have a similar appearance and can be installed side by side on the same façade.
- Only COOL-LITE® SKN 165 can be used as laminated monolithic with the coating protected against the PVB interlayer (made-to-order).
Certifications / Environmental documents- CEKAL certification for certain laminated configurations.
- Environmental and Health Declaration Sheets (EPD / FDES) available in the technical documentation.
