Description
The POINT S and POINT D systems are point-fixed solutions for Attached Exterior Glazing (AEG). POINT S: single-pane glass, monolithic or laminated, with articulated through-fixings. POINT D: double glazing with articulated through-fixings. These systems enable the attachment of exterior glazed units to a vertical or inclined supporting structure. In rooflight configurations, glazing can be suspended (upper supporting structure) or supported (lower supporting structure). Glass shapes include rectangular, square, trapezoidal and triangular. The number of fixings (3, 4, 6 or 8) is determined according to glass thickness, size, shape and imposed load conditions.

Validation
Both systems are validated by CSTB Technical Approvals: POINT S (Avis Technique n° 6/15-2279_V2) and POINT D (Avis Technique n° 6/15-2280_V2).

Advantages

• Compatibility with COOL-LITE® glazing: POINT D compatible with SKN II and XTREME II ranges; POINT S compatible with ST and STB ranges (including COOL-LITE® ST BRIGHT SILVER). ST and STB ranges can be used as laminated glass with the coating facing the PVB interlayer.
• Possibility to integrate SENTRYGLAS® structural interlayer: may allow reduction of glass thickness and weight in certain cases.
• Durability of laminated glass appearance: double locking nut on fixings limits over-torquing of the interlayer and reduces the risk of delamination around holes.

Range and characteristics of fixings and glazing
Glass holes are countersunk to match the shape and size of the fixing head; the external appearance is flush after installation. Fixing diameters: 36 mm or 50 mm.

Compatible thicknesses

• POINT S: monolithic glass 8–19 mm; laminated glass from 17 mm (68.4) to 30 mm (15 12.4).
• POINT D: units from 29 mm (8-15-6) to 53 mm (10 10.4–15-66.4), with one or two laminated faces depending on composition.

SECURIPOINT® glazing
SECURIPOINT glazing for POINT S and POINT D is tempered and heat-soak tested (HST). They are manufactured in identified production centers and can be recognised by a specific marking that remains visible after installation.

Performance
POINT D supports the use of COOL-LITE® SKN II and XTREME II ranges, offering a wide selection of thermal and solar performance. Performance values (measured according to EN 673 and EN 410) are calculated for the minimum compatible composition (e.g. POINT D 8-15-6) with the coating positioned per recommendations (face 2 for solar control glass, face 3 for low-emissivity glass).
