DescriptionResulting from 15 years of research and development, SAGEGLASS® is an electrochromic glazing that tints and clears automatically or on demand according to weather conditions and occupant needs. More than a glazing product, it improves occupant comfort and building performance through an intelligent control system.
ApplicationsSAGEGLASS® provides effective solar protection on façades or skylights for new buildings and renovations. This dynamic glazing is particularly suitable for offices, hospitals, schools, hotels, and is recommended for large architectural projects (> 100 m2).
BenefitsThe tint of SAGEGLASS® adapts to weather conditions and occupant needs to maximize comfort.COMFORT AND VIEW- Unobstructed view to the outside (glass remains transparent)
- Continuous admission of natural light
- Protection against excessive solar heat and glare
- Glass protects privacy
ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE AND SAVINGS- Reduction of energy consumption
- Contributes to environmental certification credits
- No specific maintenance required
- Blocks UV, no aging of the electrochromic layer
PRESTIGE AND INNOVATION- Automatic and/or manual control
- Option for gradient tinting (Harmony)
Range- SAGEGLASS®: the entire glazing tints uniformly according to needs
- SAGEGLASS® Harmony: glazing can tint in a gradient for precise solar control, accurate colour rendering and notable aesthetics
Characteristics / technical specifications- Operating principle: electrochromic glazing composed of ultrathin ceramic material layers. Application of a low electrical voltage causes ion migration between layers: the material tints while remaining transparent. Reversing the polarity returns the ions and the glazing clears.
- Maintenance and durability: requires no special maintenance and is cleaned like conventional glazing. Durability certified.
- Performance: at the darkest state, blocks up to 99% of visible light (versus 60% at the clearest state) and 96% of solar heat. On average, enables reduction of overall building energy load by around 20%.
- Standards and certifications: complies with EN1279 (insulating glass) and EN1096 (coated glass) requirements. Contributes to credits for LEED, HQE and BREEAM schemes.
- Customization: thermal, acoustic and safety performances as well as appearance (colour, coating...) can be adapted to project requirements.
