Description COOL-LITE® SKN are coated solar-control glass products designed to limit heat gain while maintaining strong natural light transmission. The range covers aesthetic options (tints) and technical variants (solar protection level, light transmission, reflectance). These glazing solutions also provide good thermal insulation. COOL-LITE® SKN products belong to the "les engagés" range that groups solutions with strong performance on energy and carbon, resource and circularity, and health and well‑being.
Selection in the range « les engagés » - Energy savings
- Reduction of lighting and cooling consumption: selectivity between 1.79 and 1.9.
- Lower heating losses: Ug = 1.0 W/m².K for SKN 155, 165, 176 and 183; Ug = 1.1 W/m².K for SKN 145.
- Thermal comfort: limits overheating in summer and reduces the perception of cold surfaces in winter.
- Visual comfort: high natural light for a given solar protection level and good outward view access.
Applications - Façades: office buildings, shopping centers, schools, hospitals, etc.
- Windows and glazed openings of hotels and restaurants.
- Atriums, rooflights and conservatories.
- Large residential bay windows.
Benefits - Reduced heat gain indoors during summer.
- Reduced operating costs for air conditioning.
- Energy savings and reduced environmental impact.
- Aesthetic choices for the glass: from clear to tinted, and varying degrees of reflectance.
Typical performance (values given per EN 673 and EN 410, calculated with 90% argon fill, 6-16-4 double glazing, PLANICLEAR® face, coating on face 2) Product | Light transmission (TL %) | External visible reflectance RLext (%) | Internal visible reflectance RLint (%) | Solar factor (g) | Selectivity | Ug (W/m².K)

SKN 165 / SKN 165 II | 61 | 17 | 18 | 0.34 | 1.79 | 1.0
SKN 155 / SKN 155 II | 50 | 15 | 12 | 0.27 | 1.85 | 1.0
SKN 145 | 41 | 19 | 15 | 0.22 | 1.86 | 1.1
Installation notes and compliance - Performance achieved by deposition of a noble-metal coating on the chosen glass substrate.
- Installation of the double glazing must comply with DTU 39 and the general implementation conditions for CEKAL-certified insulating glazing.
- Glasses carry the CE marking.
- Follow the local manufacturer's general installation instructions.
- Certain products in the range can be tempered.
Features / technical specifications - Environmental and health declarations (FDES) available in product documentation.
- Possible "multiconfort" functions depending on variants: acoustic insulation (with STADIP® SILENCE), safety for people and property (with STADIP® or STADIP® PROTECT), easy maintenance (BIOCLEAN® glass available for COOL-LITE® SKN 155 and 165 only).
- The range includes: COOL-LITE® SKN 145, SKN 155 (II), SKN 165 (II), SKN 176 (II), SKN 183 (II).
- Reference values measured/calculated per EN 673 and EN 410, 6-16-4 double glazing, 90% argon fill.
