Description

Project Feature Towering at 484 m (1,588 ft), the International Commerce Centre (ICC) is the tallest building in Hong Kong and one of the tallest in the world. Together, the 88-story Two International Finance Centre and this “supertall” 108-story building form a ‘Harbour Gateway’ flanking Victoria Harbour with ICC standing on Kowloon Peninsula and 2IFC on Hong Kong Island. The tower’s subtly tapered indented corners and the gently sloping curves at the base have been designed to optimize structural performance. These curves splay out at the base of the tower, rooting it to the surroundings and creating sheltering canopies on three sides plus a dramatic atrium on the north side. The spandrel panels, forming the ‘shingles’ of the façade, are uniquely anchored to the floor slabs with vision panels slotted between the upper and lower spandrels. These shingles flow all the way down to a huge glazed ‘dragon tail’ at the podium. CTBUH 'Performance Award' Winner 2014. Scope of Work 142,400 sqm (1.5 million sq ft) of curtain wall, glass wall, glass louvers, aluminum cladding, canopies and skylight system.
