Project Feature
At Marina Bay Sands, the Blue Reflection Façade with Light Entry Passage designed by James Carpenter Design Associates Inc. is located at the Upper and Lower Casino Podium Wall (exterior). It consists of a series of uniquely composed of vertical, fin-like glassand-metal elements suspended before a reflective metal panel façade. Offering an interplay of light and shade on material, this work of art is 112 m long and 17 m tall and features 80 stainless steel fins with over 200 glass fins and lights. The upper wall acts as a crisp glass fin and is flanked by 3-ply 10 mm laminated, low-iron glass with multiple layersof shade achieved with blue interlayer and silver acid-etched vertical line. The optical fibre window box creates lighting configurations onthe ceramic-laminated glass and stainless steel fins along curved wall. Spotlights at the canopy and cove lights at ceiling enhance the interplay of colors.
