Device working as a gateway (protocol conversion) between a BACnet IP network on Ethernet line and a KNX (TP) network. Server function on the BACnet IP network. Mounting in distribution board on EN 60715 rail (4 modular units, each 18 mm). To be used in KNX installations for home and building automation.
Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) communication port, RJ45 connector, at least 5E cable category
BACnet communication
BACnet register exchange
Volatile support memory with BACnet image buffer of 1440 bytes
KNX TP (twisted pair) 9600 baud communication port, electrically insulated from power supply
Volatile support memory with image KNX buffer of 1440 bytes
KNX device with gateway function (protocol conversion)
between a BACnet network (MS/TP over serial RS485
network or IP over Ethernet) with Slave function and a
KNX TP network over a twisted pair communicaton cable.
Ideal applicaton in integration of KNX devices in a
BACnet-based automation system for homes and
buildings
The BACnet IP-MS/TP slave ekinex® EK-BJ1-TP-IP/EKBJ1-TP-MSTP gateway is a KNX modular unit for panel
mounting. It allows you to exchange informations with a
master device over a RS485 differential serial or
Ethernet network through BACnet protocol. The ekinex
gateway acts as BACnet slave. The informations
exchanged over the BACnet network are updated over
the KNX network by means of a twisted pair (TP)
communication cable.
The device manages a two-way data stream: the BACnet
registers can be cyclically read and their value sent as a
communication object over the KNX TP network through
a multicast communication to configured group
addresses.
